Oscar Winner Alicia Vikander Invades the Jungle in “Tomb Raider” Reboot Trailer
Ex Machina star Alicia Vikander takes on the role of action star in a trailer for Tomb Raider. The Oscar winner plays Lara Croft in a reboot of the film franchise that once featured Angelina Jolie in the title role. Based on the immensely popular video game series of the same name, the film centers on Croft in her quest to find her missing father. Directed by Norweigian filmmaker Roar Uthaug (director of the Oscar nominated film foreign film The Wave) the film also stars Walton Goggins, Hannah John-Kamen, Nick Frost, Daniel Wu and Dominic West. Tomb Raider is set to hit theaters on March 16, 2018. Wes Anderson’s Stop Motion Film “Isle of Dogs” First Trailer Drops
Following the immense success of the 2014 comedy The Grand Budapest Hotel, director Wes Anderson’s latest has a new trailer. Isle of Dogs, a stop motion animated feature follows a young boy in search of his missing dog on an island in Japan. The cast features the voice talents of a vast amount of A-list talent including frequent Anderson collabators such as Edward Norton, Bill Murray, Jeff Goldblum, Harvey Keitel, F. Murray Abraham, Scarlett Johnanson and many other actors including Bryan Cranston, Greta Gerwig, Ken Watanabe and Yoko Ono. Isle of Dogs will debut in theaters on March 23, 2018. Tom Hanks To Star In “A Man Called Ove” Remake
Tom Hanks is set to play the title role in a remake of the Oscar nominated Swedish film A Man Called Ove. The film earned a Best Foreign Language Film nomination at the Oscars earlier this year as well as a nod for Achievement in Makeup and Hairstyling. Hanks and Gary Goetzman will produce the film for Playtone as well as Hanks’ wife Rita Wilson and SF Studios head Fredrik Wikström Nicastro. Nicastro’s involvement is in an effort to bring English language films for the global market. Chief among SF Studio’s, a major Nordic studio, credits include this years opener at the Toronto International Film Festival Borg/McEnroe. No release date or other cast and crew have been announced. “The Last Jedi” Wraps Post-Prodcution
As the films release inches closer, Star Wars: The Last Jedi has wrapped post-production. Director Rian Johnson took to Instagram on Thursday to announce the film has been completed. “Aaaand that’s a wrap on the hardest working post production team in the galaxy,” said Johnson in the post. It concludes a drama-free production that has riddled recent Star Wars properties such as Episode IX and the Han Solo spinoff. The eight installment of the main saga will be released on December 15 with a new trailer likely dropping this fall.

Bradley Cooper, Lady Gaga Centered Remake of “A Star is Born” Shifts to May 2018
The Wrap is reporting that Warner Bros. remake of  A Star is Born, has been moved to May 2018. The film was originally set to be released in September of next year. Bradley Cooper will star and make his directorial debut which will the third big screen version of the movie the first of which was released in 1937, and later remade with Barbara Streisand in 1976. Lady Gaga will also star in the updated version as she plays a young musician trying to make it big under the guidance of a mentor, played by Cooper. Sam Elliot and Andrew Dice Clay will also star in the film which officially hits theaters on May 18 of next year.
